Ko Samet

Ko_samet Ostensibly part of one of the national parks, the also small island of Ko Samet is the perfect getaway weekend from the crowded city of Bangkok and while the proximity has brought convenience, the hordes where attached.
On the weekends it's almost impossible to find some peace, it's full of Thais and backpackers  while in weekdays it's more likely to have the beach all for yourself, and if you keep in mind that you are so close to a city of ten millon people you are more likely to appreciate it a lot more.
Crowded or not, it is still an amazing island and It is worth the waittings and some fightings for that precious spot on paradise.
